Autonomous vehicles are rolling out in several cities as taxi services, and hype is higher than ever. Behind that hype is a dark underbelly. Many advocates of AVs, whether publicly or privately, seek to make them mandatory and ban humans from driving their own vehicles. To them, cars and trucks and motorcycles are like horses – something risky and dangerous that should only be driven on private tracks, as a special hobby, at great expense and walled off from the rest of your life. For them, this is just the march of progress, and those of us who continue to drive ourselves are anachronisms.

We dissent, and we refuse to sit idly as the freedom of the open road is taken from us. Our demands are simple and straightforward:

1. The freedom to drive must be preserved, and legally guaranteed, on all public roads – in perpetuity.
